FAQ'S

What is Cub Day Camp?

  Week long day camp for all scouts entering 1st-5th grade during the 2009-2010 school year.  During camp each boy will be placed in a crew with other area scouts from the same rank. 

What do the boys do all day?

  Each crew has a trained leader with an agenda which includes achievements and electives for that Scouts Rank.  Just some of the events are swimming, archery, scout skills, nature and leadership.

Where is camp held at?

  Cub Day Camp is held at historic Camp Miakonda, 5600 Sylvania Road.

What are the Dates and Times?

  Camp is held over 5 weeks beginning (1) June 15th-19th, (2)June 22nd-26th, (3)June 29th-July 3rd, (4) July 6th-10th and (5) July 13th-17th.  Please note that Camp 54 is planning on attending week 2, but you are welcome to attend any week or weeks you wish. The Camp even provides open swim and swim lessons for an extra fee after camp ends each day from 4:30-5:30. 

What is the cost?

  The base rate is $115.00 per week and $95.00 for additional weeks.  If you register with Pack 54 at the April 8th Pack meeting or no later than April 18th, you should deduct the early bird discount of $15.00 and the Pack 54 contribution of $40.00, bringing your total to only $60.00 per scout.  If you turn in your order at the Blue and Gold Banquet in May only deduct the $40.00 for the pack contribution, for a total of $75.00.  (After the banquet you will not be able to take the pack contribution and you should register DIRECTLY WITH COUNCIL, 419-241-7293).

Also, if a parent volunteers for the whole week you will recieve an additional $30.00 discount!  Any questions about the Pack contribution should be directed to our Cubmaster.  Also, please note that Webelos can use their one time $40.00 Pack 54 contribution towards Webelos weekend or Camp Pioneer instead of Cub Day Camp.

What rank should I chose on the registration form?

  The rank your scout will be in the fall of 2009.  No matter what you completed or did not complete this year your scout will move to the next rank for the next scouting year.

What should I send with my child?

  A backpack with a towel, swim suit, sun screen, bug spray, rain gear if needed and a lunch.  You can pack a lunch or purchase a lunch for $6.50 a day.  Keep in mind how children are and don't pack any valuable items that you would be really upset over losing.
