Welcome new TIGERS
GENERAL INFO FOR TIGER SCOUTS:
Boys in the Tiger Den should be entering the 1st grade (7 years old). These new scouts will first earn their Bobcat badge after completing 8 requirements. Then they will earn their Tiger badge after completing 5 different achievments. Each achievment consists of 3 parts; a family activity, a den activity and a 'go see it.' These are explained and outlined in the Tiger Cub handbook. You can purchase the book for $5.99 at the Scout Shop, Woodville Surplus or online at Boy Scouts of America.
These activities include:
1. Making my family special
2. Where I live
3. Keeping myself healthy and safe
4. How I tell it
5. Let's go outdoors.
Many achievments will be done at home with you and your scout. Others will be completed at the Den meetings held usually twice a month.
During the year you and your scout will also have the opportunity to work on a series of 50 electives. Many of these optional activities will be completed with the Pack at fun events like:
Pinewood Derby
YMCA swim and boat safety course
Leave no trace activities
Scouting for Food
Overnight family camp-out at Camp Miakonda
Mudhens game and sleep-over
and much, much more!!
Also, for Tiger Cub meetings a parent must be attend and participate.
